  Is  sleep  innocent?
Lavender, Hibernation and Neon
unpacks the subversive power of passivity and vulnerability inherent in sleep and dreams in the restless 24/7 post-pandemic era. Primarily from feminine perspectives, this exhibition features the reenacted and the new iteration of commissioned works, including video and sound installations, soft sculptures, and durational performances by five female artists: Mia Isabel Edelgart, Yoojin Lee, Matilda Tjäder, Silke Weißbach and Yui Yamamoto.

The durations of each work incorporate the experiences of fatigued bodies, and prompt interventions against the poisonous social environment, spectatorship, clock-time and the pressures of productivity in reflection of the re-accelerating world, as well as emancipates the transformational power of dreams. Lavender, Hibernation and Neon invites the visitors to experience the dilation of sleep and dream time via time-based media works and also to investigate the power dynamic of artists' and viewers' bodies embodied in the gallery in response to the wrestle of rest and productivity.
